Review: Clinique's Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief

Thought of blogging again because why not? Let's just hope I don't MIA for months... or years again!

Today I'm writing a review on Clinique's Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief I received from a colleague while interning just a month ago. It is priced at RM174 for 50ml, which I think is reasonable because the moisturizer I had previously cost me approximately RM120+ for less than 50ml.

(Take note that everything written here are based on my personal opinion.)

Clinique's Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief, 50ml

Directions:
  • Pamper your skin by removing it's make up and cleanse thoroughly with your favourite cleanser.
  • Take the opportunity to give your face a nice massage, slowly with your knuckles.
  • Rinse with lukewarm water.
  • Gently dry your skin in a soft patting motion using a clean towel.
  • Apply your favourite toner and serum.
  • Take a small amount of Clinique's Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief moisturizer and gently spread it over your face.
  • Perform your next skincare routine, if any.
  • Enjoy feeling clean!

Take Note:
  • Do not apply on wounds.
  • Stop using if it causes discomfort or redness.
  • Only for external use.

Price / Availability:
It's retail price is RM179 and I find it reasonable! Very much more reasonable than my previous moisturizers and works effectively!

Scent: Not applicable
It is 100% fragrance free as labeled and I absolutely like it the way it is. I have always been told to use fragrance free products as products that are scented are harmful for your skin because they usually contain artificial ingredients, which are bad for all skin types especially for someone like me. I have very sensitive skin and anything could easily trigger the redness and zits. I've also read online that many also do not react well with scented products made from natural fragrances? Not sure how legit it is but better not take the risk - especially for your skin!

Packaging:
I love it at first glace. The moisturizer is packed in a clear round-shaped container with just texts in white and silver for the brand's name. Just the way I like it, very minimalistic. However, you might have a problem placing it inside your skincare bag when you go travel as it is slightly big (or it might be just me. Small bag problem all day err day!) Yup. My small bag tore because I forced it in. Boo. Anyways, my fault. Moving on...

Effectiveness:
I've been using this moisturizer for about a month now and no breakouts nor oily skin! It leaves on a dewy and leaves on a healthy sheen for the whole day (under the hot sun / in an air conditioned room)... that I never felt before... hyperbole I know. But really! It really moisturizes the skin and makes my makeup look great.

Overall
Open the container's cover and you'll be greeted with a beautiful baby pink moisturizer. Without a doubt, it looks absolutely beautiful and it is lightweight, has a very soft, gel texture, like cotton candies. This itself, is a win already. After weeks of using, there are no signs of breakout, oily skin nor other skin problems detected, which is a great sign for a person with super sensitive skin like me! You can also use this under or over makeup. I typically use this during the day, because of the healthy sheen it gives out and doesn't feel sticky at all after application. Does your skin sigh in relieve after moisturizing? Because mine do. Definitely making a purchase after this finishes!
